David Paul West was a naval aviator and served aboard the USS Roosevelt during the Vietnam War.  Later, he became a test pilot.  His career in aviation spanned almost 47 years.  He began his memoir in 2019, but the project was put on hold during the COVID pandemic.  He died in July 2021 from complications following a fall at home.  His widow, Rebecca West, began the process of completing the memoir with the assistance of Ron Martz, a noted ghostwriter on military topics.
