Eva Nguyen Whitfield was very young when she left Vietnam, and her most vivid memory is traveling in the cargo bay of her father’s C-130 with her mother, recollecting the “sea of black-haired heads,” the heat and darkness, and the deafening noise of passengers and engines. She studied at Virginia Tech, graduating in 1994 from the Pamplin College of Business with a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing. She is happily married today and lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, Scott, and sons, Jake and Chase.
