Gary Doster
Gary Doster is a native Athenian and has been interested in history since he was a small child. He has a collection ofGeorgia historical artifacts, which includes a large amount of material concerning Athens. Doster has authored eight other books using material from his collections, and he co-authored another book with one of his granddaughters. He also has contributed material to several other books, including writing the Foreword to two of them. Doster worked for the Southeastern Cooperative Wildlife Disease Study, headquartered at the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine, for 46 years. At this job, he authored or co-authored 40 scientific articles in journals and textbooks and retired as a Research Coordinator. Doster has been married to the former Faye Ann Thomas of Oconee County for 61 years. They have three sons, three grandsons, three granddaughters, and, to date, three great-granddaughters.
