Steve Hassett
Steve Hassett grew up in upstate New York and enlisted in the Army and volunteered for Vietnam when he was 19 years old. Steve served twelve months with Charlie Company in 1966-1967 as a machine gunner, rifleman and squad leader and then spent most of 1968 in South Korea as an intelligence analyst with the 8th Army. After his discharge, he attended college on the GI Bill and became active with Vietnam Veterans Against the War. Steve eventually went into law and spent most of his career with the Washington State Attorney General’s Office, working in child protection, child welfare and juvenile law. He currently lives in Buffalo NY with his wife Marie.
