When Pat Burroughs was called for jury duty, they asked her a lot of questions. Do you have any family members who work for the state of Oklahoma, have you ever served on a jury, and so on. She responded yes to most questions. Then a different lawyer stepped up and started a new line of questioning. The first thing she did was look at Pat and say, “My, you sure have done a lot of things, haven’t you?” She responded quickly and honestly: “Well, I’ve lived a long time.” Indeed, Pat has done, seen, and heard many things, and for her, it’s only natural to write them down.
Glimpses of Heavener is a compilation of the writings of Pat Burroughs, spanning the last forty-plus years and published in newspapers, magazines, and on blogs.
